Dropped by Shen Li Restaurant in Tampines recently and wow – it was quite the flavour bomb. Here’s what we tried and what we thought: 🔸 Pineapple Intestine – Surprisingly addictive. The sweetness of the pineapple cuts through the richness of the intestine, giving it a really well-balanced flavour. If you’re adventurous, this is a must-try. However if uses fresh pineapple will be great as the acidity will be a great match 🔥 🔸 Blueberry Chicken – This one caught us off guard. Sweet and tangy – the blueberry mayonnaise pairs oddly well with the crispy chicken. Kinda like a fruity Korean fried chicken twist. Weirdly works. 🔸 Claypot Tau Hway – Warm, silky full of umami , Great way to end the meal. Comfort in a bowl. Pairs really well with rice ! 🔸 Sambal Ladies Finger, Eggplant with Prawns – Smoky, savoury, spicy and loaded with umami. The prawns were fresh, and the eggplant was perfectly tender without being mushy. ✅ Verdict: for those craving bold flavours and something a little different. Prices are decent, portions are generous, and it’s clear the kitchen knows what they’re doing.

Shenli is one of the places I would travel far for. Their hometown pork is amazingly caramelised and crispy. The fried rice is amazing fragrant and one of the best zhi char places I’ve been.
