Feb 2023: when we visited, only the char Sui Bao was available. We tried it and it was different from other char siu Bao with the red sauce. This one had the brown sauce with chunky meat pieces. Lean meat. Not those fatty pieces. Also had the natural umami BBQ flavour. Very good. Hope to be able to try the big bao next time.

The 大包 sells out frequently, and I’ve only managed to buy it twice out of about 7 or 8 visits to this food center. The bao was fresh and juicy (though it could be juicier). The skin was uneven—some parts were thin, while others were too thick. Overall, it’s an above-average bao, but nothing stands out in particular.

Whenever I have bao crave, this is one that comes to mind for me. For the big pau, I like the chunky and juicy meat filling. The char siu bao is also very delicious. Though the dough is on the thicker side, it is balanced by the rather generous filling. The best part is that it is freshly made and steamed at the stall.

Very popular old skool stall that sells out quickly .. but not one for me unfortunately. Items ordered: Big Bao: 4/5. Best of the order. Filling was well seasoned and juicy, slightly on the sweet side. Dough / Bao Skin was rather dense, too thick on top and very yeasty. Char Siu Bao: 2.5/5. Very dense. Dough / Bao Skin was dense, too thick and under cooked for my portions. Filling meat is not dry but too sweet for me. Lo Mai Gai: 2/5. Chicken was well seasoned and moist. Again, a bit on the sweet side. The glutinous rice was hard, lacking of any taste except something akin to "wet-cardboard". Siu Mai: Nope. Bland, filling lacked texture as the meat was blended/ground or mashed smooth. Non-descript. Kudos to the effort in making bao's from scratch, the stall's heritage / longevity and the owner's dedication to his craft..but I won't need to brave the long queue for a return visit as the food doesn't suit me. That being said the food sells out every day they open and there are many many positive comments..so please give them a try when you're in the area and decide for yourselves. ✌🏼
