I love Ayam Penyet, but this one is quite odd. My 1st time trying. Packed back the grilled fish with rice, and there was so much chilli, 2 different pool of chilli paste on diagonal side of the foam box. One pool of brighter red chilli paste and another pool of darker red chilli paste. Chilli paste isn't gravy, there is such thing as too much chilli. I scooped out all the chilli, and just mixed the white rice in the box stained with chilli, the rice turned red and when I tasted it is spicy. So I can't imagine who would mix all the chilli paste into the little portion of rice.. Even if the chilli is meant as dipping paste for the fish, the extra chilli should have been packed separately in a small plastic bag on container. And the chilli paste tasted alittle burnt.
