Sizzling clay pot rice and dishes at Haig Road Food Centre.
V2 Clay Pot Corner is a Haig Road Food Centre stall that specialises in clay pot cooking, the traditional Cantonese method where rice and ingredients are slow-cooked in a heat-retaining clay vessel until the rice develops a crispy, golden crust at the bottom. The stall serves up clay pot rice with a variety of toppings — from chicken and mushroom to salted fish and lap cheong (Chinese sausage) — each portion arriving piping hot with the fragrant soy sauce drizzled over just before serving. The sizzle and aroma of a fresh clay pot rice is one of hawker dining's most satisfying experiences. The menu typically offers several clay pot rice variations alongside clay pot dishes like clay pot tofu and clay pot liver, giving diners a focused but satisfying selection. The cooking time is slightly longer than average hawker fare due to the clay pot method, but the wait is rewarded with that inimitable crust and depth of flavour. Prices remain reasonable for the quality and portion. For clay pot rice with that coveted burnt crust and rich, slow-cooked flavour, V2 Clay Pot Corner at Haig Road is worth the wait. It is patience, deliciously rewarded.Operating Hours
