Hassbawa is a long-standing Malay food stall at Marine Parade Central Market, with roots stretching back to 1978 when it first began serving the neighbourhood. The stall is most famous for its nasi goreng, a smoky, wok-fried rice dish that exemplifies the art of Malay-style fried rice with its robust seasoning, charred edges, and comforting simplicity. The fried rice is often paired with a fried egg and crispy crackers, creating a plate that is both hearty and deeply satisfying. Beyond the signature nasi goreng, the stall also offers other Malay staples, making it a reliable go-to for residents seeking familiar home-style flavours. The Marine Parade location has changed little over the decades, preserving the old-school hawker atmosphere that many find endearing. Hassbawa's longevity and continued popularity speak to the enduring appeal of well-executed, unpretentious Malay cooking. If you find yourself in Marine Parade with a craving for properly fried rice, Hassbawa is a name that generations of Singaporeans trust.Operating Hours

Googled “the best mee goreng in Singapore” and this came up. I’m surprised with low number of reviews and mixed ratings about this shop. I prayed for it to be good ‘cos husbae wanted Mee Goreng all the way in West Coast and I was lazy to travel to the other side. Went to order “Mee Goreng + Bee Hoon, no taugeh, basah, and add mata lembu”. Came out less “wet” as I expected but I’m surprised it was as good as the one in West Coast. A lil’ too salty for me but good enough and the portion is generous lah. All in all. It was a good day to get this. I’m glad 🙏🏼

The Mee Goreng/ Pattaya Mee Goreng here is pretty good. It’s better than majority of the other places I had tried before. Have been a repeated patron for almost once a week in recent few months, food is always very good, very hygienic and met with very friendly service. Most locals who stayed nearby would definitely agree with me.

Used to eat here very often during my sec sch days. Happy that the taste hasn’t changed. This mee goreng is the benchmark that I compare other mee gorengs with. …
