Handmade Popiah is a stall at Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre that specialises in the fresh spring roll dish of popiah, prepared the traditional way with each crepe rolled to order. The stall takes its name seriously, making its popiah skins by hand for a softer, more delicate texture that machine-made versions cannot replicate. Each roll is filled with a moist mixture of stewed turnip, carrot, bean sprouts, lettuce, crushed peanuts, and a sweet black sauce, with optional additions of crispy bits for textural contrast. The Geylang Serai location places it in a food centre already known for its strong Malay and Peranakan food culture, where the Nyonya roots of popiah feel right at home. The stall prepares each roll fresh upon ordering, ensuring the skin remains soft and the fillings stay moist, a detail that makes all the difference between a good popiah and a great one. For a taste of hand-rolled, freshly made popiah in the vibrant Geylang Serai food scene, this stall delivers the care and craft that this humble Peranakan snack deserves.Operating Hours

Had it for dinner. Skin is thick and dry. Fillings are average only. Not nice and can give a miss.

Popiah standard has dropped a lot. Skin is thick and chewy. Fillings are loose and taste meh. The whole roll is smaller now. On the expensive side for hawker centre - 1 roll for $2.50, 2 for $4.50. I've had better at coffee shops for cheaper.

I asked for less spicy but it still turn out normal (aka very) spicy..

Takeaway popiah and rojak from this stall within Marine Parade Central Market, which is a really nice and spacious hawker centre. I paid 20 cents extra for the rojak container. …
