Hajjah Sumiati is a Malay food stall at Haig Road Market and Food Centre, offering traditional nasi padang and homestyle Malay dishes to the Geylang Serai community. The stall serves a spread of dishes typical of nasi padang, where diners choose from an array of pre-cooked items such as rendang, sambal goreng, fried fish, ayam masak merah, sayur lodeh, and begedil, all paired with steamed rice. The name Hajjah indicates a female proprietor who has completed the haj pilgrimage, reflecting the stall's Malay-Muslim identity and cultural roots. Haig Road Market and Food Centre sits in the heart of the Geylang Serai area, a neighbourhood with strong Malay cultural heritage. The food centre is a community hub where Malay and Chinese stalls coexist, and Hajjah Sumiati contributes to the vibrant Malay food offerings that draw diners from across the island. The stall is halal-certified or Muslim-owned, making it a reliable choice for Muslim diners seeking authentic Malay home cooking at hawker prices. If you are at Haig Road Market and craving proper Malay home cooking, Hajjah Sumiati is worth seeking out. It is the kind of stall that keeps tradition alive, one plate at a time.Operating Hours

Amazing food. I’ve been eating here for more than a decade. The lady boss is a hard worker and so is her daughter. The best chicken rice, the best noodles especially the Mee Bandung and Hor Fun. A place that brings back childhood memories and a signatory taste of Singapore. Don’t take my word for it, you gotta try it. To know it.
